August- Guest Blogger of the Month

We are excited and proud to announce a brand new feature at The Bob Page:

The Guest Blogger of the Month
DAVID FREEZE

Each and every month, we will feature a guest writer, who will share his or her life experiences with you.  These writers will be from a wide variety of walks of life, and will bring their exciting stories to you every month.

Our first "Guest Blogger of the Month" for August 2014 will be David FreezeDavid is a local running and biking enthusiast, who is also the President of the Salisbury-Rowan Runners club.  SRR is a member of the Road Runners Clubs of America (RRCA), and hosts area 5K or 10K runs.  David's recent adventures have included two bicycle trips across America, one 4200-mile cross-country trek from Oregon to South Carolina, and then a more recent six-week East Coast trip that spanned 2,850 miles, from Maine to the Florida Keys.   David has written a book called "Lord, Ride With Me" that chronicles his cross-country bicycle trip.  He will be talking about his adventures and what is in store for him in the near future.  You can also read an archive journal from his trips at the Salisbury Post website, or by searching on Google.

Click here to read David's guest blog article on "The Bob Page".

We will be continuing this feature each month, and are looking for interesting people to be our "Guest Bloggers."  To be considered, you do not have to be a professional writer or blogger.  Basically we're looking for someone with an interesting story or life experience to tell about, or a particular business, hobby, or event in their lives that they would like to share with others.

If you would be interested in being one of these people, please let us know by leaving a comment below.

THANK YOU !

THUMBTACK

I love a new business site that I've been introduced to called "THUMBTACK".  So far, I've found it to be an incredible resource.  You log in,  select your business or trade, and then create a free profile.  People that come to THUMBTACK looking for the service that you provide are directed to send you a request for a quote or more information.  After your reply, then they decide on whether to hire you or not.  It's a pretty simple, easy-to-use service.  I love it and recommend it to you!

Please- if you like this site and would like to sign-up for FREE, let me know so that I can be your REFERRAL.  By referring you, I can earn FREE credits.

Outdoor Adventure Club

I joined a hiking group back in the spring called the Outdoor Adventure Club.  We have monthly hikes and other activities, and average about 12 to 15 people at each event.

Today, we took a trip to Winston-Salem to Salem Lake.   Here is a recap of our trip, and some brief info about our club and its activities.

Your Choice : Smart Phone or Deodorant ?

A recent Bank of America survey showed that 47% of Americans say that they cannot survive -one day- without their smart phones. [I've survived about a month & no worries!]  The survey also revealed that over 91% stated that their phones were as important to them as their car. (!) Also- those aged 18-24 said that their phones were more important to them than their deodorant or their toothbrush.

Well- I must say, you can always pick up a toothbrush or can of deodorant at any corner drug store. But smart phones are a little harder [ more expensive ] to come by. But I'd advise those young people to continue to invest in their personal hygiene, and especially if they [ and their smart phones ] are in public.

New Header Banner

Hey "Bob Page" fans.  I just finished and uploaded my new "Bob Page" banner.

This photo was taken in a photo booth at some shopping mall.  Don't remember where.  But anyways: it was one of four pics that came out of the fotomat.   I don't know what I was look at either.   But thought it was good enough for the website.   Hope you continue enjoying "The Bob Page."   Let me know your thoughts, opinions, criticisms, recommendations, etc. via the comment boxes on each page.  Thank you kindly for being a reader at my site.

Eventually, I'm going to load the other version of this, with the tag line.  See if you like this one better.
